Combined motor and railway road Adler - Alpica-Service
Combined motor and railway road ‘Adler—Alpica-Servis’ — the largest project of the Russian Railways in the Olympic Sochi. The main transport arterial road “Sochi 2014” is 48.2 km long. The road is mainly located on the left bank of the Mzymta river. The new roads were constructed parallel to each other, based on the characteristics of the natural landscape. Construction of the combined road started in June 2008 and finished in October 2013. The main part of the track consists of 12 tunnels. Works on the tunnel complexes were performed with special machinery. The total length of all tunnels is over 27 km.
